Hey guys! So I am super super excited about this blog post. I teamed up with my fashion savvy friend, Alexa Hammes, to give you the run down on how to wear FUR. You guys might remember my album cover for my song “New Girl”, I’m wearing fur on the cover! Faux or not, it is a timeless trend that will keep you warm. Take notes! This is post you’ll want to remember.
Here’s some photos of myself rocking the fur look.

I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and this winter was my first one back since living in Nashville, Tennessee, so naturally there have been more below 0 degree days than there have been in the past 20 years. So, how does a girl stay warm in these frigid temperatures?
No matter where you are- furs are a gift from the heavens during winter. I’ve been spending a lot of time in Chicago lately, and I always make sure to bring along my fur coat to keep me warm. If the thought of wearing a real fur coat is too offensive for you, good thing there’s always faux furs that you can turn too that are equally as warming, and way easier on your credit card statement!
I am in LOVE with the look of fur vests, they’re more reserved than a full length fur coat, and are being spotted all around the world. Pair this vest with a sheer, long sleeved, feminine top, a dark pant (I would totally rock black leather pants with this for an edgier look), but a pair of black cigarette trousers would work for a more feminine, chic flair. As far as shoes go, I would definitely throw on a pair of thigh high black leather boots. To keep the look neutral in color will keep it classy, so make sure that whether you chose a plain flat, a pair of stilettos, or boots, that the color remains monochromatic to the rest of the outfit.
Personally, I have been a devouted Versace lover since birth. For real, I fell in love with Versace back when Gianni was the head of the Italian fashion house. This full length yellow and black mink Versace jacket is something that I dream of. I love statement jackets, they make it so much easier to piece together the rest of your outfit. To avoid a gaudy appearance, I would pair this dress with a short black dress, dark tights, and plain black stilettos. For a less dress appearance, this could easily be matched with a pair of fitted skinny jeans, black flats, and a pain tee shirt. With a jacket as loud as this one, you don’t want the rest of your outfit to be over the top as well. Think of it as the entrée in a 5 course dinner.
What’s your favorite part about dressing for winter?
